Field Day 2003 |
| Field Day activates: Field Day will take place at Ogden Park on Saturday June 28 and Sunday June 29. We have reserved Picnic Shelter #2 in the park. | ||||||||||||||||
To get there: From Market Street turn west onto Gordon Road and go 0.4 miles to Ogden Park Drive (there is a Kangaroo service station on the left). Turn right onto Ogden Park Drive and go 0.6 miles. Picnic Shelter #2 is on the right. Field Day operations officially begin at 2PM on Saturday, however we want to begin setup at 10AM and WE NEED HELP erecting the wire antennas and beam. Field Day is over on Sunday at 2PM. We have permission to stay through the night and hope to have at least one station on the air for the entire 24 hours. We plan to operate 2 stations (both with headsets and 1 set up for optional external speaker for demos only). Both stations will use bandpass filters to eliminate mutual interference. We will have the capability to operate on 80, 40, 20, 15, and 10 meters phone or cw. We will have one station connected to a multi-band 80m loop and the other one to the 3 element tri-band beam. Band conditions will determine which bands we operate, however we only have bandpass filters for 40, 20, and 15 meters. I expect we will operate one station on 40 meters during the day and 80 meters at night. The other station will be operated on 20 and 15 meters (and probably 20 meters after dark). While Field Day is not a contest we would like to demonstrate and improve our operating capabilities in a multi-station portable environment. Please support your club and amateur radio by coming out and operating.
